What the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund Alert Means to Furries

The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund Alert posted here is potentially chilling for the Furry Fandom. If you collect furry art of an adult nature – be it adult solo, adult couples, or variants of cub art, if you are singled out to be searched by Customs, and the material is found, you can be detained until a “Subject Matter Expert” makes a ruling on the nature of the art. If he or she rules the art to be depicting child pornography, or even beastiality, you could be arrested.
Officers may encounter information “that requires referral to subject matter experts to determine whether the information is relevant to the laws enforced and administered by CBP.” Officers may make a copy of the material and seek subject matter assistance when they have reasonable suspicion of activities that would violate laws enforced by U.S. Customs.
The searches in question can include luggage, papers, laptops, cameras, tablets, ipods and any other type of data storage device or media. I know many furries who carry coppies of some of their favorite art on their smart phones, and their entire collection on their laptops.
This is not limited to crossing the US border by roadway. Any time you pass through Customs -through an airport or sea port, you can be searched.
This is the first time in US history that someone can be detained and possibly arrested for lines drawn on paper, something purely created from someone’s imagination and not a photograph.

The ironic thing is this isnt completely about Furries and such. You’re here to bash, that much is obvious, but lets take a look further into this.
Lets say the country puts a complete ban on porn. You go to the airport, and get searched because you’re a potential sex offender (Be cause you carry porn), and they find it. They then take it and find something bullshity (like they say your barely legal model really is 17 and not 18), and you go to jail for having what you thought and were informed to be perfectly legal pornography.
This has little to do with the furry fandom in the bigger picture. It has to do with the fact that we’re being robbed of our freedom of speech, and now we’re being thrown into jail for it.
Hopefully, as I said above, someone makes a petition. In all honesty, every year I start moving from the furry community, and instead of being furry, I’m just a person who likes furry art. That doesnt mean I’ll stand by while my freedoms as an american are being robbed from me.
I love idiots who dont see the larger picture, gives me something to do.

Well, that sucks. Though I think most furry art is pretty easy to distinguish from pedo art, or beastiality. Not that I like the idea of being searched or being detained.

What would even prompt a search like this? This takes the concept of “reasonable cause” and bends it over a barrel. Short of flying a flag or bumper sticker saying “I like furry cub porn, it’s all here on my laptop,” what could possibly provoke enough suspicion to search artwork, for crying out loud?

the thing is its unconstitutional, simply because whats drawn here is obviously acts of fantasy. Next thing you know they will ban pornography in general.
Furry (Anthropomorphic artwork in particular) is walking a grey line of beastiality. On one half, its humanoid-like creatures engaged in intimate acts, on another, its animals having sex.
The thing is, just cuz I get off to 2 gay foxes having sex doesnt mean I’m going to hijack a plane and cram it into a building. Quite the contrary.
Back to the consitiution, we’re covered by the 1st amendment, Freedom of Speech, PRESS, and Religion. By carrying a anthropomorphic comic book containing acts of sex in a PRIVATE and COMPLETELY concealed bag, how am I infringing upon that?
Its sad to see this, hopefully it gets repealed sometime. Hopefully someone starts a petition about this.

Uhh this doesnt relate to the internet… Read it fully.
It relates to Homeland Security and customs offices. Because they consider furry porn close enough to bestiality, they say its illegal (or so I think, but hey, I’m not always right =))
