  1. This reminds me of Dave Attel’s Insomniac. This seems fantastic. Exploring the obscure and relatively unknown. Any furry media related anything I have to admit always gets me sweating “don’t say anything fucking stupid” that bastard commenting on america’s furries needs to get strangled by his small intestines for his ignorance. but I still liked trigger happy tv. My eyes did go wide when I heard “feel the fetish” (and those furries looked like they were about to panic.) but then relieved to see it was relating to zentai. *PHEW!*

    • I live in America here and I agree with you the guy talking about American Furries needs to shut up!

I am a fur-suitor myself and I love the smiles on peoples faces when I am in my fur-suit.

Which brings up my point there is always one prick in a show that has to bring up sex when it comes to furries.

  2. The show’s Point-of-view seemed to be over-all positive, which I liked. It avoided becoming “Sick Sad Word.” This depiction of Furry was more along the lines of “Hey, these guys might be strange, but aren’t furies kinda interesting and neat too?” The furs on the stage seemed a lot more down-to-earth compared to the panel. Over-all it seemed like a positive representation.

  3. That was a pretty nice interview, did a nice job of showing it in a friendly light. The panel member on America did seem to be going for the shock value. That’s why they bring some of these people on after all. They did a nice job picking a good group to show the positive, fun side of Fursuiting, and Furry in general.

What a load of ignorance… “In America they’re plushies?”.

I also found it humorous that they’d put a zentai suiter in with the furries on a skit called “guess the fetish.”

  6. Ok, lets just talk about how European people call Americans ignorant…. Yeah Ok I don’t believe any of that shit now.

    • Since I happen to know 2 of the interviewees I’ll remember to pass on your outrage to them. 🙂

Rest assure, a lot of people in the UK furry community weren’t too pleased with the remark either, even though it was more of a joke we all knew it was the wrong thing for them to say as it would touch a few nerves.

  7. What an Ass hole. Have you ever been the America? I know like 100 furries out side the internet. You know how many plushies I know?? none.

To be honest though, being the people willing to go up on stage and present us is an incredibly brave thing to do considering every fur is probably well aware of the backlash such an event might cause if it went badly. I feel overall they gave a good impression of us and what they said was more pushed against them than anything else so don’t judge them so harshly. =)

Saddly, the sexual part is kinda more apparent in the USA. i live IN the US and thanks to tyra banks and a certain chewy fox.. yea EVERYONE non-furry think its a huge sexual thing. Her and her mate kinda screwed it up for us. i dont mind if you wanna talk about furries and what not.. but DONT go into things that is meant to be private =/

I really wanna move to the UK were thats not a problem..

as they said, its a form of expression. you dont have to worry about your human self while inside a fursuit. seeing people smile is a nice feeling, people wanting to give you hugs and giggle at the feeling of hugging a furry.

I just wanna smack that guy “Americans are plushies” “everything in America is about sex” duh du du dumb ass! Trigger Happy TV guy should never be a panelist but the furries themselves were awesome not loosing it over that wino. I applaud them putting it on the line to make a positive impact I wouldn’t do it but Some one has to after Sex2k, Tyra, Rush Limbaugh,CSI, et.al.

that wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be. sure there was a few missunderstandings but that happens whenever the whole world is exposed to an unknown fandom.

You know this was a good interview but to talk trash like that on America just doesnt make sense. Im a “FURRY” Not what the one dude said that doesnt know hes stuff, and im an American and im not into the sex thing. Im in the furry fandom cause its a place were i can just be me and not worry about other things happening in life at that moment. Im not trying to say there is no sexual thing in the fandom but comon its in every fandom you come across. If you have a massive number of people with the same interest in an area dont you think something is gonna happen??

Geez, Dom Jolly is supremely ignorant. At least it didn’t go into the whole “OMG DO YOU HAVE SEX IN SUITS AND WHY IT’S WEIRD OMGOMGOMG”

  19. Jasper Wallace

Hi, this is Jasper Wallace, the chap in the velvet jacket. My comment about ‘everything in america being about sex’ was underhand I admit, but I was basically trying to come up with the quickest rebuttal I could, and brush him off. Those who were offended, I do apologise, and it was not meant as an insult to american furries, as I love furries the world over.

Dom Joly was being very vocal about his opinions, and we were getting very uncomfortable with his comments. :/

Plushies and Furries are 2 totally different things here in America….I dont know what that guy was talking about. All he did was give mis-information and he’s the kinda of guy who give furries a bad rap.

Interesting segment. Not terribly enlightening, however. And I love how the self-proclaimed “cult-figure” is apparently the final word on what a “furry” and “plushie” are and what they’re all about. *le sigh

i agree and i disagree with the statements about US furs. there are a lot of them that are just all about sex but they are few and far between. I actually know a few like that living in different countries so its not like its just a US problem. And speaking as a US fur im in the fandom because of how i feel and all of the friendly people. i have yet to meet a fur who is unfriendly, i know they exist but i don’t know any. so really guy in the background no US furs aren’t all about sex its just a bad stereotype about furs and i think you should actually come here and meet some of us!
